Creating an IFC-SG Model from Revit for CORENET-X Submission

Course Overview

This course will impart the knowledge and skills for Built Environment professionals to prepare their Revit models for Corenet X submission. The course provides learners with an overview of Corenet X and its benefits to the industry, navigate learners through the IFC-SG starter kit, and trains them to use the starter kit for the step-by-step process of preparing models for conversion to IFC-SG.

Course Curriculum

  • L01. Identify the transformational benefits of Corenet X to the industry.

  • L02. Explain the purpose of files within the IFC-SG Resource Kit

  • L03. Extract relevant information from IFC-SG mapping table for various authority submission

  • L04. Embed relevant IFC-SG information into a Revit model manually using Revit's default IFC feature

  • L05. Embed relevant IFC-SG information into a Revit model using Revit's BIM interoperability tool with IFC-SG Configurator files

  • L06. Check and modify georeferencing of existing model to meet requirements for Corenet X submission.

  • L07. Export a Revit model into IFC-SG.

  • L08. Modify the IFC configuration files.

Entry Requirements

  • At least a diploma in architecture, mechanical and electrical, engineering or any built-environment related course

  • English language proficiency at GCE ‘O’ level of C6 and above, or WSQ Workplace Literacy skills of Level 6 and above.

  • Proficient with the use of a Windows-based computer for work.

  • Completed Projects-based BIM Revit Basic and Documentation Training or equivalent.

  • No prior working experience required*

  • Learners who do not qualify in terms of education but have at least one year working experience in the Built Environment will be admitted on a case-by-case basis.
