What is SkillsFuture Absentee Payroll Funding?

Under the SG United Jobs & Skills Package, SMEs are able to make use of Skillsfuture funding to fund up to 90% of employees' course fees. For sending their employees to such courses, employers can claim $4.50/hour for the time spent by their employees while on course.

For a full list of courses that qualify for absentee payroll funding as well as course fee subsidies, visit the SkillsFuture website here.

Step 1: Create a Corporate Paynow Account

You may apply for a paynow account from any one of these local banks:

Step 2: Enable Corpass Access

Before you begin, if you are unsure how to assign e-service access rights using Corpass, I will strongly recommend that you watch this Youtube video from Govtech.

For the purpose of applying for absentee payroll, you will want to search for "skills" in the Filter search bar as seen in the image below. Assign the appropriate e-service access to the designated user. ssg-wsg-e-service

If you are the owner of the business, you may want to consider assigning the Corpass access right to a member of your HR or Finance team.

Step 3: Apply for Absentee Payroll Funding via the enterprisejobskills.gov.sg website

  • Visit the Enterprise Portal for Jobs and Skills

  • Login to the Singpass account which has been assigned the appropriate access rights (see Step 2) skillsfuture-absentee-payroll-claims-page
